The Spartanburg County Public Library and Neue South were the recipients of a National PR Award and one of the highest communication honors from the American Library Association, the John Cotton Dana Award, for our census campaign and proven community impact. Spartanburg County was only one of five counties in SC to reach our 2010 count, a measure of success by the Census Bureau during the pandemic.
And the Friends of South Carolina Libraries (FOSCL) recognized seven individuals or groups this year for their contributions to public library service, two of which were from Spartanburg Counties Complete Count Committee for our census work!
• 2021 Outstanding Individual Award – Kathryn Harvey, Principal of Neue South Collective, nominated by the Spartanburg County Public Libraries
• 2021 John Landrum Advocacy Award – Andy Flynt, Director of Information Services, nominated by the Spartanburg County Public Libraries
